Grade 7 Media Lesson 1


Starter
I’m going to read you a passage twice, your job is to draw what you hear.
You’ll need coloured pencils too.











Passage
My neighbour kept a creature. It always sat on the front veranda of his dilapidated house. Its head was large and its teeth even larger and pointier. It walked on all 4s with large claws that could tear through anything. Its tail was long and whippy with diamond shaped end. It’s eyes glowed purple and its slimy skin was green.







Introduction

Here are 20 film techniques. Each person gets 1 (number off 1-20). Your job is to report back to the class about that camera shot and what it means.

An establishing shot is usually the first shot of a new scene, designed to show the audience where the action is taking place. It is usually a very wide shot or extreme wide shot.
